SEO: How to Promote Your Web Site with Articles

SEO techniques that get relevant links to your web site are the most crucial ones. Why? They are the most effective for getting high page ranking, that's why.
Now one of these SEO techniques is article writing. That is, you write articles and post them in an article site. People will read it and fellow webmasters of the same topic/genre as you will link to your articles.
This SEO strategy has a major advantage over link exchanges: You don't have to link back to the web sites that link to you. It's one-way. Link exchanges are a bad idea, by the way. They can get you Google banned if the sites you link to practice "black hat SEO" without your knowledge. Our advice is to use just article writing.
For article writing, choose a topic you know well, which should also be the theme of your site. Write about it like a pro and submit it to article web sites.
Your articles should be brief and straight-to-the-point. About 300-500 words depending. The article site may have set rules. The tile should be something like, "Top 10 SEO Tricks for?" or "Secrets to Successful SEO Marketing" or anything else you feel will grab readers' attention.
Some article sites may be free, others paid. Some have other webmasters subscribed to them. Your articles will be mailed to webmasters looking for the same type of articles that you write. The important thing is to make sure you submit to an article site that will attract the kind of audience you're looking for.
A good article or ezine site may have hundreds of thousands of subscribers each. This gives you plenty of exposure with a minimum of SEO work (just one article!). Place a link to your product page from the article.
Now in that page, sell the item to them with an attention-getting, urgent message, like "Discover the secrets of eternal youth! Offer good until so-so date only! One time offer!" (Okay, maybe selling alchemical potions is pushing it a bit, but who knows?) Then ask them to enter the information you need, name, e-mail, credit card number, etc. Out of the thousands who visit, at least some will undoubtedly make the desired action.
Yes, your market depends a great deal on the suckers on the planet. But hey, that's business. And SEO targets just that type of crowd. However don't go overboard. Be credible. If you sell a worthless product to your customers, your reputation will suffer in the long run.
Instead, build your business reputation starting with good, competent articles. Then sell your web site or products with the same integrity and reliability.
