How to make money through affiliate marketing and blogging

Affiliate marketing has boomed in the last few years due to more and more people making use of the internet for business. As more online stores begin, so they realize the need for a good online marketing campaign, and even better is to find a cheap one. This is why affiliate marketing is a great way for businesses to make money.

The affiliates that join can be anyone, and they will make money when they manage to attract someone to the advertiser's website and generate a sale. This is a win-win situation for everyone involved. The advertiser makes a sale and pays a small commission to the affiliate instead of spending a fortune on banner ads that might never have made a sale, the affiliate begins to make money and encourages more and more people, and the customers are happy as they have been shown a site where they can buy just what they want.

So how do the affiliates find potential customers? In an offline situation they would speak to people they know, phone people to refer them, and so on. This is no different online. Blogging is the one place where people chat all the time. You can basically do or say whatever you like on a blog as it is a mini website. You can therefore use your web space to make money. If you have more than one blog then it is even better, as you can reach so many more people. You never know when you are chatting to people online, if someone is secretly looking for the exact product that you can get for them.

So, try it out and make friends, set up a section for your business and make it know. You can post blogs asking if people are looking for cheap jewelry (if that is what you are an affiliate for). People will respond, as there are millions of members on blog sites. You can even post pictures of the products which will entice people even more. If you do not feel comfortable making a sales pitch, then simply say it as if you had found this really great place while browsing and now you are telling your friends about it.

The other reason why blog sites work wonders when you are an affiliate is that it is free. When you join up as an affiliate, you have grand intentions of making money, but do not realize that you will actually have to spend your own money to advertise your affiliate link to people. This leaves people feeling despondent and irritated because many of them are not that internet savvy, and will not know how to place a banner ad or insert URLs.

As soon as you have people interested in your products, then try asking people what they are looking for. If you find that a lot of people are looking to buy cheap software, then join as an affiliate on a good site, and refer them to it. Once they buy something, you get paid. Nothing could be simpler, and the best thing is that even if you don't sell anything, you will have gained some friends and lost nothing.
