Guide to an Effective Real Estate SEO

Real estate SEO (search engine optimization) is the process of generating enough traffic on real estate web sites via the natural results of a search engine. Real estate SEO enables a user to type specific real estate-related keywords and come up with results.

Real estate SEO should focus on getting a high ranking in search engine results. A spot on Google's front page can double your online traffic immediately. How can you receive a high ranking? There are basically three things to consider: effective keywords, textual keyword generation and enhancement of link popularity.

An effective real estate SEO should be able to determine the keywords that are typed on the search engine. Usually, there are applications that give you the popular search terms just by typing a related phrase. However, highly popular search terms aren't always the best. You should try targeting a niche market that is really catered by your site. For example, if the customer types "Los Angeles properties", you are literally competing with tens of thousands of real estate sites. Instead, target those who look for "Sunrise District apartment homes". Even if you get fewer hits per minute, you are still most likely to get higher ranks because of fewer competitors.

This leads us to another consideration for an effective real estate SEO, which is to generate keywords into the textual content of the web site. Usually, your home page should have the most number of keywords inserted, because it is linked directly to the search engine. However, when inserting the keywords, do not keep them cramped within the paragraphs. You might generate the highest rank in the search engines, but your texts might not be readable. Remember that the main target is still the customer, not the search engines. It might be also best to use the keywords on page titles such as "Sunrise District Studio Apartments".

The last thing you might want to consider for an effective real estate SEO is to enhance your link popularity. Usually, there are fees to be paid to popular directories such as Yahoo. Some free directory listings include DMOZ, whose database is also used by Google in their web listings. Getting listed in DMOZ might increase your chance with Google. Also, consider submitting your link to a local real estate community directory.

An effective real estate SEO utilizes proper keywords and enhances a real estate web site's popularity. By taking advantage of a real estate SEO, a real estate web site is able to attract customers through keyword and link generation without sacrificing the site's usability and credibility.
