If you run a business, small or large, online or offline, you need to make sales and you definitely need to market yourself or your company. Basically you need to market what you are selling or the service you provide. Traditional marketing, off line or online, can be very tricky, very expensive, and you can't trust most of the advertising sharks out there, as they will offer you their services at a much higher rate than they are worth. Traditional advertising is costly, whether it is print media in magazines, newspapers, brochures, poster or flyers, or video or audio media like television or radio or even online media like banners, pop-ups and the like. The truth is that you cannot advertise any business in print media, and you can just advertise any business through audio or video media either. However you do need marketing, so you will be glad to know that there is a cheaper alternative.

As said before, whether you have a big or small business or whether it is off line or online you and your company will benefit from affiliate marketing. Before we proceed you will need to know what affiliate marketing is. Simply put affiliate marketing is a sales method that offers you company a cheaper way to market you company. This type of marketing is cheaper because you basically don't pay for marketing, you only pay a percentage of all your sales. For example, you will get an online affiliate who takes what you are selling and goes around to places like Google, and Yahoo and fills in forms, this process is called data entry, they will enter your data with a link to your website and selling your product for you, in return you will pay that person a percentage of your sale. The going rate for a sale is anywhere between 20% and 60 percent.

Data entry is only one way for an affiliate to make money, if you have an imagination your affiliate career can go a long way. It has been proven throughout the world that affiliate marketing works and that a huge percentage of companies and organizations that started affiliate marketing sales methods start saving money on traditional marketing and also started making 10 time more sales, in some cases sales went up 25 - 50 times more than when they were using traditional sales methods.

It is proven that affiliate marketing works, but there is a saying that says that you should not expect affiliates to sing up to you method just because it is available on your site, but when you do get them, expect to have a raise in your daily sales. This method is tried and tested and have been making lots of money for lot of people, why should it not make money for you? It is easy, it is cheap and by doing this you are creating opportunities for other people to start up their own business.
