How to do SEO for Yahoo Search Engine?

My website comes in top 10 of Google search result for some keywords. But why it is not coming in top 30 of Yahoo Search result. I need to bring in top 10 results of yahoo for some specific keywords.

Both google and yahoo have different algorithms for their respective search engines. So a site ranking highly not necessarily means will rank on other search engines as well. For better ranking on yahoo, first and foremost check your meta tags (description and keywords) because both are most important for rankings on yahoo. Also do begin to obtain relevant links from high authority pages and directories as soon as possible. Take care of who you link out to and do not participate in link exchanges with non-related content sites. Use Yahoo Site Explorer to monitor your site to see how many pages are indexed and to analyze the links to your site. I hope it helps you out. Best of luck.

It is natural for you to get yahoo links into your website, which is indexed by Google. You would have to become an active member of yahoo answers in this case.

I think that for Yahoo, backlinks are the most important.

You are allowed to link back to the source you found the answer from and if it is relevant to your answer, you shouldn't be banned. Just don't spam Yahoo answers as they instant ban for that.

if you get yourself ranked in google, you will get ranked in yahoo too....algorithms of both search engines are different but depends both on the number and quality of backlinks.

Yes for Yahoo Optimization On Page Optimization matters a lot as compared to Google. So go for it first and then backlinks.

well this is hard to answer for this i guess may b google catches the site links much faster than the yahoo and yahoo is newbie in search engines as per the google

Google loves links that has some relevancy and Good PR, where as Yahoo loves links don't care about its root. So to get impress Yahoo you have to work on Blogs.
