Default Yahoo! Search Marketing - Conversion Tracking

Hello everybody,

I have a question concerning YSM I hope someone is able to answer - the guide provided by yahoo didn't help very much, neither did the young woman with the charming voice at the customer hotline.

The problem:
Apart from Google AdWords, I want to advertise my products via the YSM network as well and configured my campaigns accordingly. So far that wasn't a problem, since the concept as such is rather similar to AdWords.

But when it came to actually track the conversions, I met my limits rather soon, especially since the imformations available weren't exactly 100% clear.
Quite similar to AdWords, I wish my conversions not only to be counted, but want to know as well what sort of conversion took place for which ad (we have several product groups with a separate registration form each); apart from that I intend to separately define the amount for each conversion for certain groups in order to get a clearer picture of my campaign results (if I define the value for a certain product as 100k and consult my dash board and see I got 300,012 conversion, I know that I sold that product 3 times and 12 times another product)

According to the analysis tracking site in YSM, I have to integrate the following script into my order forms:

<SCRIPT language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
<!-- Yahoo!
window.ysm_customData = new Object();
window.ysm_customData.conversion = "transId=,currency=,amount=";
var ysm_accountid = "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx";
document.write("<SCR" + "IPT language='JavaScript' type='text/javascript' "
+ "SRC=//" + "srv2.wa.marketingsolutions.yahoo.com" + "/script/ScriptServlet" + "?aid=" + ysm_accountid
+ "></SCR" + "IPT>");
// -->
</SCRIPT>

Now the question: which variables have to get which values so I can connect these informations to my database? I assume that the underlined values are what I'm looking for, but I don't get which values I have to assign to each value so they give me the numbers I'm looking for.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Schon mal vielen Dank im voraus!

Whoops, forgot to clarify:

<SCRIPT language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
<!-- Yahoo!
window.ysm_customData = new Object();
window.ysm_customData.conversion = "transId=,currency=,amount=";
var ysm_accountid = "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx";
document.write("<SCR" + "IPT language='JavaScript' type='text/javascript' "
+ "SRC=//" + "srv2.wa.marketingsolutions.yahoo.com" + "/script/ScriptServlet" + "?aid=" + ysm_accountid
+ "></SCR" + "IPT>");
// -->
</SCRIPT>

The underlined passage is presumbably the one that includes the specification of a conversion. Could someone who is using YSM please clarify which values I have to enter to get proper results in my tracking overview?

For example transID: is the value a gibberish code (not unlike the ysm_accountid) or should I enter a properly worded term like, dunno "transID='vegetables' " which would also appear as the product group "vegetables" in my dashboard?

Any help would be appreciated.
