Why web designer shouldn't Do SEO ?

SEO is very long process of getting ranked in search engine for targeted keywords which are relevant to your work or site. As web designer, you have to follow those link building methods which may work and may not to achieve ranking and even after achieving ranking If there is a small changes in search engine algorithm which may cause your ranking down.

If you decide to do SEO for your site, you have to face large competition as web is most competitive niche and there are big player already presents on top which would do whatever it takes to keep their positing intact.

So instead of following SEO, web designer should focus on other methods which can bring direct leads like Submitting portfolio or CSS to CSS directories. Participating in forum market place and web design forums as an expert author. Listing your designed template to free and premium template sites and making active yourself in project listing site can get you better result.
