If you are thinking of creating good nice layout or design with use of web design software like Photoshop or Corel Draw which generates coding for your design, You are wrong, for good carrier you should focus on how along with what factor in design. Mostly designer used to get aware themselves with common software and tools which help them designing nice layout without worrying about knowing the base elements behind these tools or how these tool works?

So definition of good web designer involves having technically sound knowledge on three basic things. First is the basic knowledge of HTML tags. At certain situation where one HTML tag used only once and require to give its look manually, at the moment knowledge on how to define style would be helpful. Second it the coding of CSS. Hence there are automatic CSS generator available, but base knowledge would be require when these free tools are not able to provide the result the way you want. Last one is the knowledge Java script and different JQuery plug-ins. Along with having knowledge of three, you have to keep yourself about the latest updates In each one.

It means that the look and feel of the website and what makes the website work has to be looked upon very carefully.
