Hi,
I hope everyone is doing well. I am afraid I am not too good. One of my website’s ranking dropped suddenly. Duplicate content seems to be the reason behind it. Actually, most of my pages have duplicate content. Now I intend to change the content. Do you think that will propel my website to its original position? I want my old website ranking back? Is this the right way to resolve this issue? Is there any other way to solve it? Please let me know. I am losing sleep over it. I have also lost my appetite. My work means a lot to me.

If you remove the duplicate content, everything will EVENTUALLY return to where it was- bear in mind that this will not happen overnight, and may take up to 2 months to reverse.

There is no duplicate content penalty .Google doesn't like duplicate web sites.It says so in the policy guidelines.

If you really want to make things right, remove all your duplicate contents and adds original, change the duplicate contents might make the situation worse.

Tehre are 2 kind of duplicate content, remove both of them =) Only do unique content on your page, and use a 301 redirection for your entire website with your .htaccess

Quality of contents is another main issue that should also be resolved. Your contents should be relative, there should be no grammar error in them. Contents should be informative.

Please check out if there are any options to change the duplicated content. Because one of my site page rank went down from 6 to 3. Now I am taking steps to edit all the duplicated content.

Firstly you should change the content of your website and should write fresh and unique content for your website and after that you should start the promotion of your website and i am sure you will get you old ranking within 2 or 3 months.

The ranking of a website based mainly content, if you have strong, original content and proper use of html tags, keywords entered are under the term and condition of search engine then you get better results.

What do you mean by Rank ? Is it Page Rank ? or Rank at search result ?
If it is about Page Rank then forget it and try to make some Do-follow back-link , Do the SEO job.
If it is about Rank at search result then it is the only way to remove those duplicate contents .
