Help with affiliate banner tracking

Hi all,

I would like some help here about "Affiliate program" using a banner.

I do not have a affiliate program - I am more a merchant - All I want to do is, put the banner (Ads banner) in my website then once clicked it will redirect to the owner website.

I'd like do the tracking here so I know which user clicked the banner and maybe purchase a good from that website.
Any helps would be highly appreciated.

Don't know if this is still relevant but tell me how do you promote your site and what is your site about.

Do you have your own affiliate-program? If so, you alter the url the banner goes-to, and make it beat your script, and then the script links back to the affiliate-site.

If not, it makes more complex, and untrustworthy, as you would have to use javaScript-events and if you believe they clicked in the affiliate-banner.
