What linking options is best to offer affiliates?

What linking options should I offer my affiliates in my affiliate software?

Should I offer just banners and text links or should I allow them access to my database also via some sort of API or datafeed/XML feed?

yea, thats a good idea. Marketing can be done in a wide variety of ways, but some of the most common, tested, and effective ways of marketing your affiliate program is through article generation, forum marketing, email capture pages, traffic control, and autoresponder series. Also, expand your marketing strategies and your affiliate programs by creating more websites to increase the content driving your traffic.

I'd offer text and banners. I do believe banners are a tad passe, but the right one in the right place could still be effective. Definitely offer text ads that are attention getting!!!

Banners don't seem to convert nearly as high as just basic text links in our programs. I think the world is getting bannered out.

The most effective way is to have a compelling or eye catchy text links that will convert more sales!

The best links are natural affiliate links, because there is no reason for Google or any visitor to treat it as a paid link or even affiliate link. But it does not work unless your affiliate software has kept a provision to your affiliates to verify the source domain.

Affiliates with very few visitors do not bother about the quality of links. However, the high traffic website owners will be very sensitive out quality links and may never agree to put a poor quality link on their site even if you offer him a 100 percent commission. You must consider the following affiliate linking information before choosing your affiliate software.

I'm a vendor and about to build my affiliate page so I'm having a hard time looking for a link generator software or code that has an option for Conversion ID's to put on the blank box and generate a link with conversion id embedded.

Text and banner links are important. Also API or datafeed/XML feed are equally necessary to be offered to affiliates.
