Advice on starting a WordPress design affiliate program?
I am a web designer with an expertise in WordPress design and custom programming.
I've used a salesperson in the past on a commission-only basis, but now I'm considering that an affiliate program may also be a good way to get new business.
I'd like to hear from anyone who has experience as an affiliate marketer. Have you ever tried to sell a service rather than a product? What are the differences I should consider?
It's a good idea to start with an affiliate program. We are also doing the same. We are a technology consulting company providing IT services including web designing - development since 2006. We have also designed an affiliate program. Our program (Partner Portal) simply works on pay per lead basis i.e. we pay when someone refers us project and that referral genuinely convert into a good lead for us. We have decided to pay 20% commission.
You can too start your own kind of affiliate program. Just built your affiliate program, decide how much percentage commission you can provide and start marketing it. You will need to have lots of patience as you will not going to have projects just after its launching. The success of your AP will depend upon your marketing efforts.
