change the left panel of the page in the site.its diverting all the attention to that part rather than the main content.put some more activity links there with some other background color

The whole page was oriented too far to the right in Firefox. The spinning globe seems gimmicky and globes are overdone for headers in my opinion. I see them everywhere.
