First what I noticed is a loading time, it's slow. Logo looks too simle and not enough catchy. Grey font is blending with the background color, but only a bit as for me, so may suggest to make it darker. Anyway, it's nice to stay.

I think that is fine for its purpose. When a site has a tool the design is not so important, at least for me.

Probably you're right, still there should be some balance between the design and the website "filling"
