To effectively exchange links with different websites, first search for possible partners that have good reputation and then on your web page, put a link that will take your visitors to theirs and make sure to inform them through email. If a site did not seem interested in exchanging links with you, remove their link from your page and make a record of it to keep track of the uninterested sites. And to those who did exchange links, check from time to time if you can still see your link on their page.

Hi Guys,
If you make 5 new blogs and put articles on them with the intention of linking back to your main site this is not going to help at all.
The PR of these blogs would be zero so they won't pass any link juice. The only way to increase the PR would be if people start linking to your blogs.
But, if the content is good enough for people to link to it, then why not put it on your main site?
When I first started I, like every newbie, had this idea too. I started a bunch of little niche sites to feed back to my main site. None of them have helped and they just took my time away that could have been used to create stupendous content for my original site.

Link exchange is done with the same PR and related sites. You can do email to the site's admin for the link exchange request. And if they find your site is suitable for link exchange they will put your site's link on their site.

I'm also agree that you should do all the SEO jobs including forum posting, blog commenting and so on. These manipulations will help you to invite others for better link exchange.

To effectively exchange links with various websites, first looks for potential partners who have good reputation and its website, put a link that will take visitors to their own and be sure to notify them via e-mail address and respond to the Webmaster a respectful way and introduce you and your organization and link exchange services, etc.

Link exchanging is not the best form of link building because one-way links that come from relevant sources seem to be the best choices when it comes to improving rankings of websites over the net. If you are interested in using a few reciprocal links, try to find authority domains in your web niche and then take a look at the websites structures to figure out whether or not their admins are willing to take part in link exchanging.
Normally, on websites which participate in link exchanges, you can find some icons, graphics or text messages which encourage other webmasters to fill in forms and get in touch with the managers of the websites. Depending on PR and web ranks of the sites, you may find some portals in your niche. In some cases, sending email messages directly to the admins of websites can also help finding link partners easily and very quickly.
