How much should SEO cost for a good content website?

I have a content website, and the content is very good. I have been doing SEO on my site for four months. I have had a one-way backlink request success rate of almost 20%, and reciprocal link request success rate of almost 65%, which I think is very good.

However, I want to spend the little time I get off my university on improving my site, rather than SEO. If I hire someone, or web site Design Company to do SEO on my site, how much should I pay? Will adSense or something similar be able to cover the costs?

That all depends on how it is set-up, keywords and all. For example if you google "make yourself famous" you'll see my name and KCPA-TV several times in the top 10. If you google "temporary webmaster" my name shows up in the top 5, often #1. Yahoo will put me also highly in "make yourself famous" but not yet on temorary webmaster. All of this says I "may" know a little about what you're asking.

Fees of course depends upon how much competition you have and how many pages need working on. It's difficult to put a flat rate on SEO work because one never knows who the competition is. Then, there's the part about remaining "King of The Hill" once you get there. People always want to knock down the leader of the pack, so you'll be changing your coding in order to keep up.

Finding good paying keywords and writing around them is my recommendation, for what it's worth.

The pay is dependent on the service or task you will assign to the person or company you will hire. Just be careful when dealing with webmaster staffing companies because you might be paying for someone who is inexperienced and will end up wasting your $$$

Well it depends on the area of service you are looking for.Services in Newyork for seo may charge you $2200/month for the entire package (all tasks included from PR to SERP'S) it also depends on the website you would want to promote.As of now SEO for real estate websites are a bit costly.

You can think how much if you were to do the job. I think India has great fields for getting low-cost SEOs there. I think it also depend on niche of your website.

SEO rates do vary from each provider. Just one advice if you are going to outsource it. Be sure to check on the portfolio of the provider and if possible get actual feedbacks from some of the clients they optimized for in the past. SEO requires time and those that guarantee to bring results in a day or two are most probably scammers

That depends really, If you can get one-way backlinks to your site, from sites which are SEO optimized with High page rank themselves, your probably sells itself. You can also try running an affiliate program, and let your affiliates do The SEO for you, so you can pay extra attention on yor site content instead

It depends upon the keywords. The cost of any optimization project depends upon keywords. If you are targeting keywords like "web hosting", then you should prepare yourself for a quote in thousands $$.

However if your keywords are less-competitive then you can optimize your website with a low cost seo plans ( only from authentic seo sites).
