Is there anyone who could help me out with this SEO query?

With 3 businesses that are closely related, there is this particular client I have. For all these 3 businesses, the client wishes to have a site on these 3 domains. A different domain is what he wants with a homepage that will have 3 categories linking to all the possible domains. I know that Google has penalized and banned websites for doing what my client wishes to do and I am really worried about that. According to you, what can I do? Is there anyone who can offer their inputs and suggestions? Could someone offer some advice or information that I could use to help myself?

well, this concept is coming from link farming,, and Google prohibit this....it your are doing this mannually than google wont say any thing but if you are about to use any tool than google will have doubt on it..
