I am quite new to the online world and SEO industry and I would like to make a query about organic sites. Why are they called that way? Is there any possible reason why the name is suggesting a natural niche? I am biochemist and in my area of discipline, this term means so much different from the technological applications that websites are supposed to have. I would like somebody to give me an idea of how it is defined, made, and applied to the whole aspect of website optimization and SEO effectiveness. A nice reply would be greatly appreciated.

"Organic" doesn't refer to biology, as you're used to. The term organic is simply referring to something that is 'grass roots', and non-artificial. Organic sites (supposedly) are sites that have grown over time due to their usefulness.
