Using www. In site maps

Hey folks,

I am new here and was looking for some help from you folks. I have a website that I am using for the purpose of the SEO. For this same reason, I created an XML sitemap. But now I am on the lookout for some advice on what I should do or avoid doing. I have some profiles of the site on Google webmaster tools. One of them is with www and the other is without it. Is it important for me to delete one of them? Is it better if the site begins with www or site.com?

redirect your website with www version and put all the with www link into xml sitemap.
