Hi,

How are you guys doing?
I need to know about the right way to count outbound links. Can someone enlighten me on it? According to a popular SEO tool, outbound links are viewed as 2 numbers-

1. Internal outbound links that indicate other pages in the same site

2. External outbound links that indicate other websites

I believe page rank is distributed equally among all outbound links. However, one SEO expert maintains that only external links are deemed as outbound links. Is this right? Is this information true? Please let me know about it.

Thanks a lot in advance.

internal and external links are considered as outbound links... from its definition, outbound links are links from a web page pointing to another web page. "They can link between different Websites or between pages on the same site".

HI,
out bound links:- Outbound links appear on a Web page and direct users and search engine crawlers to another Web page. They can link between different Websites or between pages on the same site

that's right inbound link means link comes to your site and outbound link means link goes to your site to other website.

It seems you are confused with "internal and external" with "inbound and outbound"...
Internal links are the links on your website which point to your own website pages,

whereas

External links are the links on your website pages which point to some other external webpage of a external website which are also termed as outbound links.

Inbound links are the links of your website located on some other external website page...

Hi,

First get yourself SEOquake installed in you FF browser, check your internal and external links.

10/10 the first 10 lists your internal / 10 lists your external.

Both in and external links pass linkjuice

external pass more than internal and voting for other sites can reduce the PR of your own site/page "If you have many links pointing out" but then it is sometime good practice to have outbound links too, but not too many again.

Its a balancing actl.

Pagerank is not destributed evenly it will depend on a number of factors.

Wiki Google Page rank for a full explination.

The best rule I work to is between 5 and 15 but they should link to good sites.

I hope it helps.

If any site is linked on your website, and if a visitor gets directed to that particular website through your site, then it is termed as outbound links.
