Is there any specific reason why do-follow blog comments do not have much weight in search engine optimization?

Do you mean nofollow? dofollow blog comments definitely GIVE weight in search engine optimization rather than nofollow...

I never heard that before about blogs, but if it is true, it's probably because they are so easy to post a link to and don't usually have the moderation you find on forums.

I think there is some confusion in question, it should be no follow there in place of do follow. And do follow blog commnets have always great weightage in seo rather than no follow.

blog is do follow but the comments, if comments are do follow , they will habe a weightage

Do follow itself have a lot of weight-age and if a site is do follow then the links are beneficial for our site to rank well on SE.

If we talk about blogs then the comments should be do follow attribute so that, the links coming to the site will get more preference.

It's hard to find dofollow blog.
Why not creat by yourself.

The value of this type of links (dofollow from blogs) was very much devaluation because a lot of spammers uses this type of promotion to make their sites more powerful in SERPs. When Google see that, they change the power of these links. That's the reason of weakness of these links.

Who told you? lol Anyway Any Dofollow links count. Remeber a link is still a link and Dofollow link still counts as a vote your site.
