Use Anchor text while making links, instead of direct url. This will help you to promote your keyword, and when your keyword appear on first page of search engine more chances to get traffic.

Does any one know how we can get organic links and how many links are important?? and the answer is links that are coming through relevant resource is more important and worth getting. Apart from this, there are other ways also that are good to implement and helps in promotion and getting backlinks.

All the points here are good but, I feel that the more you get relevant links the more it is beneficial for a website and relevant links will be more helpful apart from other links.

yes link building is the best way to promote and grab more traffic on your website, but only link building is not enough, proper on-page optimizations shoud also be brought at the starting.
one thing more, while doing links building it is important to use good resources, that they do have good page rank and popularity.
