I'm not that familiar to other SEO tactics. Can anyone help me or give me some clarification about keyword density? This will be a big help for me as a beginner in SEO world. Thanks in advance.

it tells about how many times a particular word or combination of words are searched in your website. there is 1 plugin in Mozilla that lets u know about this. For e.g. "Ask a Doctor" in www.healthcaremagic.com is searched 70,000/month
In this way you can track your desired key words. The name of this plugin is SeoQuake.
Regards

Keyword density is important because search engines use this information to categorize a site's theme, and to determine which terms the site is relevant to. The perfect keyword density will help achieve higher search engine positions. Keyword density needs to be balanced correctly.

Well, this is the right definition for keyword density. If you are targeting a certain keyword, many suggestions tell that your keyword density should be 2 to 4%, though there is no defined rule that states how much should be the keyword density.

Agree with alenyuli, these days you just have to keep them low and accurate and you will be fine. No keyword stuffing!

Increasing the keyword density percents might not help that much with web rankings, especially when talking about Google that is believed to favor links and the off page status of the sites. Usually mentioning a few keywords per page can be cool in a way to show your contents have been written in a natural way.

Keyword density is defined as the percentage of the total number of times the main target keyword(s) appears on the web page compared to the total number of words on the web page.

Key word density is word phrase repeated with over all content on particular web page. This can help search engines to rank your web page .it is not good if you use high or low key word density.we should maintain balance for good result.

Keyword density refers to the ratio (percentage) of keywords contained within the total number of indexable words within a web page. The preferred keyword density ratio varies from search engine to search engine. In general, I recommend using a keyword density ratio in the range of 2-8%.

Do you consider the number of keywords and divide it by the total number of words per page and multiply by 100%. Optimally - 5 - 7%.

keyword density is the ratio of the word that is being searched for against the total number of words appearing on your web page. If your keyword occurs only once in a page of one thousand words, it has a lower keyword density than a keyword that occurs four times in a page of similar length.
