Default Do you think spam works

Lately, I came across spam on a blog. I was keen on knowing about it as the keyword tag on the spam URL had the name of my town. I followed the URL, and realized that the person behind spamming is a person from my school. Out of curiosity, I asked Google whether he was trying to build huge backlines through link:HisSpamUrl" because I found no backlinks from the blog. For confirmation, I checked a pageview of the blog pages, and saw his backlink implanted lacking no-follow tag.

It was irresistible for me to email him about his failed attempt of spamming. In return, he stated that Google is indexing the backlinks and also helping in page ranking of his site. As Google is "picky" about the links, this doesn’t disclose on a backlink search. Building my curiosity, he also mentioned that he wouldn’t like to reveal other secrets for checking real backlinks. Please tell me if it is true or he is just lying.

Hi dear

I am not sure whether one can comment on his willingness to spam on your blog... Your step to ask google is fair enough.

I do not want to be mean or anything, but please learn how to use Dear. it is a term of endearment. Do not use dear unless you are in some sort of relationship with that person. So please learn to use it properly. Just Hi or Hello or Hello Mate if more than enough.

And for the OP, I;ve seen this on some other forums before
anyway, Google does index all links dofollow or nofollow. The nofollow links are just not counted towards his rankings. So some of his efforts may be wasted.
