I think you are referring to websites using wordpress blogs.. yes you can optimize them..

The Two Main SEO Factors

When conducting SEO on your sites there are two main methods to classify:

On-Page SEO Off-Page SEO

On-Page can be described as anything you do to your own site in order to try and improve your SE rankings.

Off-Page is anything you do external of your own site (e.g. building links, submitting articles, press releases, viral tools) to improve your rankings.

Truth be told 80% of all your SEO results will come through Off-Page SEO, so likewise, 80% of your time should be spent doing Off-Page SEO. When you start optimizing your site you are not actually optimizing a site in its entirety. You are working on an individual page.

This is that Google ranks pages not sites. So every page you add into your site should be individually targeted to its own set of keywords and its own topic.

This means you can have many pages ranking well for highly targeted keywords. Obviously the work you do to the main page of your domain does have what I call a “carry over” effect, meaning you can pass authority through to your internal pages by linking correctly to them.

Start off by using wordpress and the appropriate plugins becasue it is pretty well optimized for the on-page part of seo.

What Seo Magician said is right. Yesterday I found a plugin for my wordpress blog called All in one SEO pack.... or similar and installed it on my blog. It optimizes your title, description, etc... very good tool... Google it:

either put: All in one SEO Pack Plugin

Wish you luck,

Robert

Hi ryno33...

Here are some good tips that you can follow:

• The most important factor for traffic will be the content, if you have quality content, good and inspirational articles, Users will never take U turn from your website.
• These days most of the traffic on websites come from search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN etc. So you must use SEO tools to be ranked higher in these search engines for keywords relevant to your site. The right words in the right place can place your website to higher listings and get it seen more easily when people search.
• Money makes money. So spend some money and start some good advertising campaigns like google’s adwords, yahoo ads, adbrite etc. These ads will give your website immediate exposure.
• Increase the presence of your website on the World Wide Web, by getting backlinks. This will be also helpful in SEO of the website and increasing the page rank. Your link on other’s site will also fetch their traffic. Link-exchange will also be a good idea for widening the exposure of the website.
• Submit your quality content and articles on social networking and news websites like stumbleupon.com, del.icio.us, digg.com, reddit.com, netscape.com etc. These days webmasters are using Orkut.com communities for advertising their websites.
• Participate in forums like digitalpoint.com and make the link of your website your signature and post threads, replies etc.
• Make the url and slogan of your website your signature in your emails.
• Last but not the least, do some sort of ground marketing in the form of ads, posters, newspapers and tv ads etc. They will be also useful to attract new users.

Regards
