It's depend on the work, i think more hard work needed on seo and the keyword must be unique and prolific and do press release, forum posting, article submission, social bookmarking.

It is good that you are in 40-50 rank because now your competitors are below 50. Now first thing don't focus on increasing PR but on reaching in top 10 of Google search result.
