Google SERPs VS Yahoo SERPs
I can see everyone is in the race to get the higher position at Google or Yahoo SERP. But i have a general complain and need to have right solution of it, the problem is that i usually do everything to get my website promoted in the right and positive manner but did not get expected response in Google but getting yahoo. I need to ask all of you that how one can promote website in order to get high ranking in yahoo results than in Google results. Is there any way to do it and get your expected results. Thanks

Well I think one thing that may come into play is backlinks. If you have allot of backlinks you may see traffic from yahoo. If you have better quality backlinks you may see more from Google. Not positive on this though

The two search engines have different algorithms. I tend to focus on Google, which is because I mostly get my traffic in there, and when everything works fine in Google other SE will follow all the way.

I agree with Matt123. They both have different algorithms. What I normally do is aim for the more popular search engine when optimizing my website pages and then pray that the pages also do well in the other search engines. If you get loads of quality natural backlinks, I believe you will have higher chance of your site ranking well in all the major 3 search engines as long as you optimize your site correctly for Google. If you don't rank that well, then at least you are for the main and most popular search engine.

The other SE don't really follow Rizham as they have different algorithms, but some of their stuff they use to rank sites are similar or the same as what Google uses like Back links, the title and description meta tags, etc.
I focus mainly on Google only because they have the biggest search marketing share.

If you want to rank in google, post in all do follow sites because google count that as backlinks than no follow.. no follow serves as traffic not backlinks in google but yahoo considered no follow sites as backlinks..

Typically Yahoo and Bing are more shopping centric and favor product oriented websites. If you have a site like that you should notice that your SERPS are higher than they are in Google. Overall Google favors informational content driven websites and therefore will take you longer to gain rank as you are competing with sites that you normally don't have to in Yahoo and Bing.

One thing: Yahoo is very strict when it comes to site domain age. That's why new websites find it hard to rank well in Yahoo.

Dmoz is google directory which has their own reputation among online webmaster and users. If you get index in dmoz then its help you to generate good brand image on internet. Because dmoz have strict guideline and not approve anyone's website in their data base, So try to get index in dmoz by following there rules.

In my opinio Yahoo SERP is irelevant, because it don't bring you big traffic. So, better idea is focus to Google SERP.
