Good for you. Increase in PR will have some effects in gaining more visitor traffic because it will gradually increase your visibility in Google search.

no- increase in PR may not always have to increase the amount of visitors to your website, it depends on the SERP, the sites with higher SERP will receive higher amount of traffic and those with lower traffic rate will receive less.

Congratulations on getting that page rank! If you try and type any keywords on google, you would be surprised that some of the sites found on the first page only have a page rank of 2 or sometimes none at all. It just proves that high SERP does not necessarily mean high PR. But by having a good rank, you are favored by visitors and advertisers are easily drawn to your site.

No , I don't think so. Increase in PR means good and quality content. It doesnot mean more traffic. For traffic you need to use SEO tools or tips.

Having run a succesfull SEO company for a few years I can safely say that there's no positive correlation between a higher PR and increased traffic.
PR is based on a variety of things, and typically yes, you will see increased traffic as your PR rises. However, there's no direct causation between higher PR and traffic. Traffic increases based on so many factors, and often you'll gain a higher PR as a result of the combination of those factors.

PR - quality of the web site + back links for the website and other factors.
the algorithm to asses the PR of the website and position of the website are entirely different things.
Simply gaining the PR doesn't gain any traffic to the website.

Increase in PR have INDIRECT effects in gaining more visitors, because PR is a factor that Google considers when ranking websites for a particular keyword. However, PR is not the only factor though. But considering that it is an ingredient in gaining higher keyword rank, applying the transitive property of equality (if a = b and b = c, then a = c), it may look like this:
increase in PR = higher Google SERP rank (because PR is a factor in ranking)
higher SERP rank = more visitors (because there are more search engine exposure)
therefore;
increase in PR = more visitors

Traffic has nothing to do with PR, you could have a PR7 and still have the same traffic. You need to start focusing on traffic rather than increasing your PR. Build relavent links to your site with the required anchor text to "help" increase serps. Make sure you are not punching above your weight and target a keyword which you've researched and you firmly believe that you can compete with it.

Of course the PR improvement has a positive correlation with number of visitor , or what we called technically traffic. Because mostly visitors only visit high & improved PR sites.

First PR doesn't means more traffic or best ranking in SERPs.
But better PR surely Means better ranking in SERPs.
If your niche is highly competitive there will be no changes in traffic
but if you have done good on page and SEO and your site's niche is not competitive then you might get some more visitors from google.

Pr is nothing to do with SERP.
As pr is a grade provided by google to each webpage. You can say that a good pr means more value in the google parameter which leads to fealthy SERP. But i must say that having great pr doesn't mean heavy traffic or high Search engine ranking.

Increased PR does not always lead to a rise in traffic. For example, many PR 3 sites get little or no traffic.

No, not at all. There is no relation between PR and traffic. Both are based on different criterias and are acquired differently.
If you are looking for PR, then try to increase the number of backlinks through various sources like forums, blogs, directories etc...
and
If you are looking for traffic, then increase your network in social networking sites and bookmarking. Also organic search also helps a lot in bringing huge traffic.

I think PR is more for making ur site first on the search results and if ur first on search obviously the person searching will visit u first and it will increase ur traffic .

An increase in Pr may not necessarily increase traffic to your site but it increases chances of it because people will find you in first page and chances to clicks increases as according to some survey-70% of people does not go beyond 1st page and hence the chances of hits increases for sure.
