Is Twitter necessary for seo ..?

i have seen many peopl using twitter nut I do not see twitter much beneficial unless you follow right people

Twitter is a “nofollow” attribute to links submitted by its users. The “nofollow” attribute advises Google and other search engine to ignore the link. However , the search engine which responds to this is ask.com

Using twitter you need to get involved in a related groups or followers because it is one of the technique on how to get traffic from twitter.

with twitter is not about link back, it all about direct traffic and if you serious marketer you should consider this one for your marketing campaign

Well Tweets are now indexed by Google so that's one important thing to realize. Secondly I've been on Twitter for about 6 months now and average about 3 Tweets per day. My Twitter home page is a PR 5 and I have one link (it's no-follow but that's a different discussion) which is incredibly valuable.

Twitter is right now considered as one of the most dynamic traffic generation technique available, simply because all information you and other people are giving is in real time. It is almost as dynamic as chatting yet with better qualities. You can easily find people that are interested on the same niche. By entering your site on twitter daily, you are guaranteed that people are exposed to it every day. Blogs and forums do not give you any guarantee that your backlinks are seen on a regular basis. I am not saying that the latter is useless, because not linking to these sites may hurt you in the long run.

If you do a search on Google, sometimes you will see "live" tweets in your results. This is part of Caffeine, their new search effort. So in a sense, yes it can help with SEO if you are active on twitter, and someone searching for a term on Google just happens to see a tweet you made with those terms included.

Othewise, it's pretty low impact on SEO...

Twitter really helps to drag the visitors and the spiders to your website, it is not about backlinks. It is really helpful in the SEO point of view

The only benefit that I see from Twitter is traffic. Twitter is one of the top social microblogging system on the web today, and having many followers will heighten up the potential of making them visit your website.

Twitter is mostly useless for link building purposes. All links generated in Tweets are no follow links and are useless for gaining high search rankings.

Twitter is useful for seo. twitter generate traffic but the condition is that you have to spread your network by following the same professional users. & second you have to stay update with your twitter Account daily.

My Twitter links do appear in my GWT area. I realize they are nofollow but they still hold value in the eyes of Google. Its always a great tool to get new content pages on your website indexed. Any page linked on Twitter is picked up by Google within minutes. If you are having trouble getting your site pages indexed in a timely manner you should consider tweeting out links to pages you want Google to pick up.
