If you take a close look at each page of Wikipedia which enjoys top Google placements, you will find them powered by one way links, coming from blogs and websites managed by admins from all over the world. Naturally, a site which is information rich and has many links will be at the top of search sites.

I don't think so, Google gave .org, gov and edu site support.. Google only wants backlinks whether its Wikipedia or ordinary websites.Wikipedia has huge volume of backlinks that's why Wikipedia on top position but not all topic

Wikipedia is a incredible website when it comes to information on any of the topic. Google emphasis on delivering best website for all the keywords. SO ranking Wikipedia for many queries is far enough.
