Which links will be better: Directories Vs. Article Submissions Vs. Bookmarks

I'm working for a client that has a motorcycle parts site.

When he came to me the site was a bit of a mess in terms of basic on page SEO, but we have cleaned things up and optimized the following.

Title Tags
Header Tags
Image Tags
Internal Link structure
Meta tags

The site is an ebay prostores (which in and of itself is nightmare for good SEO), but have made some good progress and are ranking on Goog p1 for several keywords.

Most of the site's competitors have many many more links so I'm looking at ways to increase links.

Of course links from authoritative sites are most important and we are working on that. In the meantime, I've considered directory submissions, article submissions and social bookmarking.

Does anyone have any advice on which of these are the most helpful in terms of building a link map?

Directories
Article submissions
Social bookmarks
Others?

baclink is incoming links to a web page or site..
its importance lies in seo..

Why not a combination of all of the above?

Write articles and then bookmark them?

Submit your website to directories and then bookmark the link pages? Yes, you are helping the directory site, but if it improves the quality of your link it makes a ton of sense.

Well for me I will choose Article site where you can also post a keywords with a link and somehow some article site has a reputation in any kind of search engines which can also gives you a huge back links for your site.

It's better have a combination of this three:
Directories
Article submissions
Social bookmarks

With social bookmarks, sometime you can see the result in short-term time while article submissions, the result is good but sometime take longer time to drive traffic.

i really suggest you to not to go with directory submissions, it require a lots of effort and the impact it is having is very less.In recent time i had read about the search engine not giving much importance to the directory listings.

I think article submission is the most powerfull in the short run, but neither should be discarded. I totally agree with danviettravel that one is not enough - and should always be combined for best results. The SE constantly changes, so what if the SE suddenly decided that your way wasn't the way forward anymore.. !!?? Not a good thought...

Given those 3 choices I'd go with articles every day and twice on Sunday. A quality article on Ezine Articles can give you a PR 3 link, or better which the other services can never reach.

To me, it's also easier to syndicate your articles over the other 2 methods(although Onlywire makes social marking easy).

I'd look into profiles and video as well
