My Basic SEO Techniques.

Here are my Search Engine Optimization basics that I use to promote my sites.
Note that they are merely listed in details and you can add any further idea to it.
Here is it:
First is to build the site,
Second is to write good SE optimized contents on it with at least 20 pages all related to one topic,
Third is to submit it to search engines,
Fourth is to ensure it has been indexed by Google,
and lastly then, I start to build backlinks towards it by submitting articles, forum signatures and blog commentings.

These are my SE technique that I've been using and it works if done properly.

Don't forget to use on-page optimization,it is done within your site (titile tags,meta tags,alt tags,description,keywords and heading tags);and off-page optimization ,it done within your site(article subbmission,classified ads,blog commenting ,forum posting and social bookmarking).

You can always buy link packets, or even outsource the link building. The key is to find a reliable source of do-follow links.

The SEO technique must not only to used for getting a higher ranking in search engines but must also be good enough to generate ROI by having a good traffic. If your website is on rank 1 but its bounce rate is 80-90% what is the use then?

So, what I feel is to advertise your website in those places where people are looking for you. This can increase your customer and undoubtly an increase in search engine rankings.
