Strategies for obtaining SEO clients

As an SEO do you have process you go through to attract your clients. Obviously I do not expect people to spill their secrets on how they get clients, but what methods have people found the most successful?

Cold calling? cold emailing? face-to-face networking?

Also, which industries have you found most receptive to SEO?

According to me if your SERPs is good for your main keywords then client will think about your services first than other.

I think that the personal touch always works best of all.

Also, have you considered teaming up with other professionals? Web design companies and PPC experts may be able to refer clients if they don't have SEO expertise themselves.

Build a good protfolio and clients will follow .One way of getting new client is to have some happy customers who would refer you good clients.So deliver quality service and results to keep your client happy.
