Unhappy Why my indexed pages decreased?

Last week i saw my indexed page decreased from 2300 to 1160, and now it is only 800 pages, why?
And how to make my indexed pages come back?

May be google is dancing here with your indexed pages. I suggest you to check back again in few days and if still not indexed ...try to see if you are being punished for any blackhat activities.

Google doesn't mean, the page of index in decrease! It means the ranking in the serp!

Sometimes it happens, it doesn't mean that you are penalized by any reason and thus your pages are decreased. If you were penalized by google then you would you received a mail from them stating the reason. You are first warned by Google and after that you are penalized.

Check for crawl errors. The Crawl errors page in Webmaster Tools provides details about the URLs in your site that we tried to crawl and couldn't access. Review these errors, and fix any you can.

The next time Googlebot crawls your site, it will note the changes and use them to update the Google index.

I think "joyce686" has given the exact solution. Google webmaster tools shows you the exact error in the URL. Just fix that error and again submit your xml feed file to webmaster tool and wait till the crawler crawl your site again. Google will definitely index those pages and again your pages will increased.

Such things happen. You can wait for a longer time to see the long-term situation.

Follow joyce's advise.. use the Webmaster tool to check for crawling errors.
After doing it, try to create outside dofollow links which points to those websites that has no index/cache. It may take a while for Google to reindex those pages, depending on your domain's PR. Also do not forget to ping those sites. Consider also submitting those page's URL manually to Google (but this is not necessary if those pages are not banned).
Good Luck!

I agree with Joyce.
Check your google webmasters tools, don't forget to check your site map too.

There is nothing you can do with it. But before telling you anything, i want to ask something from you.

Have you changed the server for your website?
Have you changed theme?
Have you switched to new domain?
Are you trying to get too many backlinks a day?

If yes, then it is sure that your website pages will get deindexed. Proper answer can only be given after knowing your above question answers from you.
