dropping position

One of my keywords was ranking quite well few days ago. It was on first page (8) and was there for few days but now gradaully it is dropping down.
First : 14
Second : 25
Third : 33
Fourth : 55
Fifth : 70

I am little confused about this fluctuation, can anyone give explaination on this?

Hi,

It may happen as somewhere your site's on page optimization has to be done properly as data centers are changing so their might be having some fluctuations due to this also.

I suggest you not to worry about this, as wait for 8-10 days and if still your keywords are not ranking then it must require an optimaization processes.

Also, their may be a reason of fluctuations by Caffeine also, as the implementation started from 10 august, so it may give some results like this.

Try adding some fresh keywords, so that you can fight the rival sites, because it happens that after a few weeks or months, the old keywords stops fetching the same amount of visitors. It has to be modified according to the demand.

Are you continuing to build backlinks? G tends to look at the rate of backlink building over time and rewards consistency. If you backlinking rate has dropped, so will your site in the SERPs.

Your point is right but it happens in that case when some other site's keywords are some where in a good competition then it may rank in a good position.

Also, it depends on optimizaton also, as somewhere other site's optimization has been done properly. So, there are many factors dependent on this dropping position.

Continues optimization would help a lot in maintaining your SERP’s. It would be great, if you optimize your on page at regular intervals. Make sure link building should be done constantly at regular intervals.

Exactly, regular Off and On page optimization is the best way to make out frm this dropping posiiton, also I suggest you to atleast check the content of your web site and add a Sitemap in it, if it doesn't have.

I will suggust that the first thing u should so is to check your backlinks, to see how they are working.

If some of them been removed or broken or so.

Maybe you should to check whether your backlinks expired.And keep on building more high quality backlinks.

Make sure your content is relevant and useful!

Some suggestion for u, I think u'd better understand how Google sees your site. The Keywords page shows the keywords and phrases other sites use when they link to yours. Understanding how other people see your site can help you figure out how best to target your audience.
