Default JavaScript Uses

The use of JavaScript can look fantastic on your web page, though an excessive use of Java will often hinder a search engine spider. This in turn will lower your chances of being indexed by the engines. This practice is usually seen as the most common reason why your pages may not be indexed. If your web page URLs are embedded in JavaScript, most of the search engines will not recognize them and will not index these pages at all.

If you are serious about getting your pages indexed by the search engines and wish to obtain a good position on the MAJOR search engines such as AltaVista, Lycos, Go Network, Excite, Yahoo and many others, you must consider changing your website. You can achieve this by either placing the links on your pages in simple .HTML format or by including alternative links at the bottom of your pages just for the search engines to spider and navigate through. Major search engines likes of Google,Yahoo, Msn etc, does’t read javascript codes, so it is preffered that you only put simple HTML codein your webpage.

Yeah, google and many popular search engines do not index java script. In fact to my knowledge no search engines index java scripts. It is always advisable to build websites using simple HTML to get indexed by search engines.
