bizarre problem w/ description tags
I have a website with all pages indexed.
When I search for the pages in google by doing
site:domainname.com
all the pages come up with perfect titles taken from the title tag and perfect descriptions taken from the description meta tag.
When I type in
domainname.com only,
the pages come up with the title tag but no description. Instead the description it is pulling is the stupid copyright at the bottom of all the pages?
How can it pull 2 different things for the same website? How do I fix this and what are the implications of the searches? If people look for a topic and one of my pages is returned as a result, which one do they see
- the real description or the useless copyright?
