Well Domain name and SEO has a very strong connection between them, it is in your best interest that your domain name should have the targeted keyword in it, as it allows Google to recognize it faster and would also help you to get in good Google rankings as well! However domain age doesn't have that much importance but old domain names usually have higher PR's and more worth in the market, especially when it comes to selling it!
