I hope to submit my new site to yahoo directory for $299.
Is this good investment?

Yep.. jennei, its surely a good investment. Yahoo is a well known search engine and in future you will definitely get the benefit from them.

i don't thought it's good investment for you and if you invest it's worth dear. it's too much. you can go for Other Quality directory on the net as well like V7n directory, VMoptions.com, avia.com, seofriendlydirectory4u.com, pegasusdirectory.com etc. it's give you quality backlinks in google for your sites. some of them are free directory sites as well like seofriendlydirectory4u.com it's very quality directory dear.

I think its a good investment if you can afford it. Google has stated in the past that having a link to Yahoo and ODP/DMoz is a good thing, however I believe they removed that information from their guidelines recently. If you can't afford the yearly cost then look into other lower cost directories that are human edited and have some value, BOTW and JoeAnt I believe are still helpful. Yahoo and directories are only one of many different ways to build links.

It's a good investment but you should also know that there are other FREE and quality directories out there.. so think twice about it

I would use the $299 to get several high PR links than to invest in link from Yahoo directory. There are hundreds of good directories where you can submit your site for free including DMOZ.
