There are big difference between the two, just imagine that I said this one.. I'm planning to go over there.. means you will go over there, but when I tell you that my strategy to go over there, meaning you will think of something first before you went over a certain place.. and for me strategy is better than planning..

I'm planning to build a Marketing Strategy.. does it make sense?
