Do you think it is good that your web is the number one on search engine?

Why we use seo with our web? I think all of us want our web is the number one on the search engines.But is it good?
Yes, it could have high traffic,and you can earn more money .
But did you think is it have any disadvantage?
1. There will be more people copying your content.
2. There will be competitors trying to use various methods trap you.
3. Will attract the attention of search engines, will be artificially blocked your site.
4. Some people will be on your optimization technology, and then imitate you, kill you.
So we could not cling to the number,we'd better abundance our content,only we do that,though we have no good number on search engine,we also could earn more money online.

I would rather be listed first, trying to figure out how to stay there, than be listed anywhere else, trying to figure out how to get listed first.

I own a site that has had the #1 position on Google for the past five years. No one has copied my site or done anything to take away my #1 position.

Agree, rather be fighting to stay on top and be rewarded for it. Traffic is king. Why bother if you don't want to succeed.

when you create your own website or blog whatever, your little wish concerning with that is to get visitor. and very soon this little wish will become a big hope to get more and more traffic, just like an addiction.
No-1 position in search engine helps to achieve/fulfill your wish i.e getting maximum traffic.

It really depends. Even your website is not #1 in search engines, you will trapped by your competitors if you are popular. Mike Filsaime and many other internet marketers has faced problems such as spam complaints even they didn't spam. I have website that rank #1 in search engine and have no problems at all.

I don't think why you are too worried of being in the first position on search engines. I would like to ask you a question.

Why do you need to own a site?

Is it just to say I have a site. Absolutely not! each and every one of us want to make a good business through the site. This can happen only when the site is getting the maximum traffic. One can get the maximum traffic only when the site is in the first position.

your worry is people will trap you, they will copy your content. When you are in the first place in the search engine for good period of time. You don't completely need to depend on search engines for the traffic. Your site will be getting direct traffic once your site becomes popular. Your site can become popular only when is the site is in the first position on the search engines.

So don't worry of others try to make site to be first on search engines always!

Everything has 2 sides: advantage and disadvantage!
But I still prefer to have my website on number 1 of the search engine although it can have some disadvantages as you said!

That depands on what keyword phrase you are going to be number one in search results... If the search phrase is not related to your website, ofcourse you'll be banned, and it also depands on what methods of keyword promotion you use....
