Default £1850 does this sound right for SEO

Hi everyone

I have tried a little SEO and it just seems endless. So I made the decision to get a quote for the work to be done by a third party.

The price includes:-

website analysis
keyword research

content tweaking for previously researched keywords
revising title tags and meta tags
validating the HTML code
basic consultancy

submitting to free general and UK based directories (55 to 60)
submitting to paid directories (35)

total £1570 + vat

So around the £1850 mark when you include the VAT.

This company has come recommended.

Do I need to submit to the paid directories to gain a good position in google and other search engines? This is a new site with very few inbound links!!!

Thats way too much for seo in my opinion, you dont have to submit to paid directories at all to get a good place in search engines. What type of site is this seo for?

I'd have to agree with the others. That is alot of money. I have seen some companies doing it for around the $500 USD mark and I thought that was quite reasonable.

Default It really depends

It really depends on the site of your site and the amount of work involved.

Keyword research is one of the most important elements of any SEO campaign to ensure that your website is fishing where the fish are bitting.

Send me your URL and I can give you my two cents as to the amount of work involved and the problems your website currently has.

Cheers

Richard

You would find many companies that will do even more for much less.

Most of the things that this company offers are things you could learn to do and apply by yourself.

Not only can you learn to do them yourself it's generally more effective if you do.
I now generally train and oversee people doing their own. For most people it's the most cost effective way and gives the best results.
SEO is more a total approach than just a service to buy in.

That would be a decent price if they preformed some back links that were not from directories. For what they are offering is way too much.
