Simply log in to webmasters tools. At dashboard itself you will see submit a sitemap option. Click on it, submit your xml sitemap file at given space. As you submit it, it showcases how many url submitted and how many of those are already indexed.

Go webmaster tools then click site link. than submit .xml site-map file at give place.

You should submit sitemaps when you add content to your site. Small sites with few pages do not require a sitemap.
