Default Will changing the html and graphical content of my website affect search result

I've been working on my new website design for a few months with different html coding, new images and graphical content. I've tried to maintain the same text content and tags so the search engines can still recognize my site. I've moved the text around in my new site. I've worked very hard and with some main key words, my site resulted in the first top few results in search engines.
Will updating and completely changing the html coding and graphical content but maintaining the text change my ranking results in search engines?

Thanks for your help!

It might affect to some extent but how much. I am unsure about that... It might ease or complicate the process of data indexing for search engines depending on what kind of change you inculcated.
This might offer some help

Changing the theme of my blog site had a negative effect on my rankings and I had to work on content and build links to regain the position. Hope you do not face the same...

Usually, if you just change HTML codes only or add new CSS parts to your web pages, but maintain the original contents which have previously been indexed and crawled by search engines and your titles plus descriptions too remain unchanged, URL of your pages are also important, even installing new templates may not have big impacts on your ranks. For example, many blogs are found with newer templates or skins and doing fine.

URL structures of content pages along with what materials appear on sites can have big roles to play when it comes to editing various parts of them. It is definitely possible to perform renovation types of jobs, without hurting ranks of the sites online. Just make sure you do not accidentally delete any of your main web pages, especially those internal sections which already have some incoming, one-way links pointing at them.
