what is better for SEO- Article submission or Forum Submission

With the latest google algorithm update for this new year. the directory submission value have been reduced considerably.
The major 2 areas of posting backlinks for SEO people are articles and Forum Submission.
What according to you is the best for search engine optimization?

Personally I prefer forum submission. Just like you said, article directory submission value have been reduced considerably, more than that, now they become more strict with articles, too. Forums have bigger chance to get traffic and less limitations, so I think forum submission will be better.

I think article and forum are best technique but it is depend on your submission. But make sure that you are submitting unique and informative article in a one website. Don’t use same article in different article submission website because duplicate content is hate by search engines. While doing forum posting you should participate in genuine discussion and it is better to discuss topic which is relates to your website.

I think article is better option you need to be fresh by posting fresh article on guest posting sites are more valuable rather posting in forums. Anyway if you just thinking to post same article into many of article directory then you would not get long terms results. As we know that SEO is the task that remains useful for long terms.

Depends how each is done. Spinned articles will got you banned and too much of spamming in forums will result in same. You could only succeed with original written content for articles and in forums with true comments and sharing knowledge.

I think directory submission has still some value as you can go with some useful and high PR sites which are still able to get handy backlinks.

Forums are the best way to get backlinks from the perfect location based anchor text, but you have to make sure that you are giving your active contribution and not spoiling your image.

If you talk about article submission then you just need to take care about the content. After panda update it is now tough job to provide unique article every time but that is the only way to get benefit from articles.
