The tips are useful indeed for folks who are interested in taking part in some reciprocal linking patterns. There is still a lot of debate over the net about values of the reciprocal links gained through exchanging systems and it is useful to know how valuable the votes can be. While surfing the net, we will find a lot of top-ranking websites which have exchanged links with other sites in their niches, accessed by eager net audience.
On the other hand, many websites which are on front pages of Google for their selected keywords too can be spotted which only are powered by one-way links, so there is one question raised over here and that is whether exchanging links with other domains can be good? It is logical to exchange links with only a few high quality, authority domains in your niche, especially the sites which have better ranks than yours.

In Link Exchange
- Make sure to check for relevancy
- Make sure to check for dofollow links
- Make sure to place your links 2 to 3 clicks from the home page of the requested site.

Yeah, link exchange is a very labor intensive process. Contacting hundreds of webmasters and getting replies from few make it a frustrating experience.

I rarely do link exchanges in recently years, many webmasters are getting harder to get together with, link exchanging cheating, remove links without telling, add nofollow meta stealthily, etc. So I preffer exchange links between my own websites in different hostings now.
