Profile links

When it comes to getting links, how does profile links work!!

I have never done it before. Just want to know your opinions.

It works fine the profile links, here most of the time you can promote only the links but not the keyword with links.

Profile link is nothing but just register yourself on the site that are meant for profile linking and create your profile. They provide you with the option to add links on the anchor text and many of them allow you to use more than 2 anchor text also.

Some Web2.0 sites allow one or more links to your site when you register with them. The links can be do-follow or No-follow. If the links are do follow you are going to get link juice.

I personally don’t find profile links credible enough and when there are much better options available (forum links, backlinks from quality websites..), why go for less credible one.
Profile links are usually password protected and hence not crawled by spiders.
Profile links are considered only if they come from a quality source

Thats really useful topic...I like to discuss on the issue, is profile submission blackhat method.

Please provide expert opinion.

I don't think that it is worth to leave the links in profiles as they don't work the same way of signature links.
