For Best results you need to work on all the factors i.e. both On-page and Off-page factors. You need to get links from article submission, forums, blogs and directories. Better to link to the Site with High PR and who provide do-follow links.

SEO is the best technique of ranking high on search engine. SEO improve visibility of website, by improving words and phrases relevant to what the site is offering Main task is to get your keywords on first page of search engine; this will helps you in getting good quality traffic.

I can easily improve my ranking by doing off page activities for my website, Try to find out best keyword for your website. And analysis that which keyword will appear on the search engine result page.
