Can anyone briefly explain about Image Optimization and how it work proceed in SEO.


Image optimization is like search engine optimization wherein relevant keyword and effective technique using the most compressed (smallest file size) yet visually acceptable image in the proper file format for the specific role of the image are applied to attain high ranking on different search engine. It is important if you want to get traffic from image search basically from Google Image.

I agree with you.But Image optimization is the process of compressing and optimizing images so as to make them easily readable by the search engines.Here i define few steps about it.They are define as below.
1.Optimizae the size of image
2.Do away with any extra white space
3.Add Alt tag with your image
4.Add an image sitemap to your website.

- Add Alt tag with your images
- Optimize the size of images
- Add an image sitemap to your website
- Use thumbnails
- Do away with any extra white space
- Make sure you use GIF for animations, JPEG for multi-coloured photos and PNG for icons and backgrounds.

properly optimizing images involves using the "Alt" attribute when adding images to your site. Basically Google Crawlers cannot read images, so you add the "Alt" attribute to tell these crawlers what it is. What you place here also is what is shown in the event the image doesn't load (say someone is using a web browser that is not compatible for some reason)
