Default Multiple links from the same website

Hi

Here's a question, I cannot find an answer to.

What is the effectiveness of having 5 backlinks from the same PR5 site as opposed to 5 backlinks from different 5 different PR5 websites.

Thanks

Paul

I think the links from different sites would help more - granted that the pages where your link would be has that PR. There are also some other things to consider like the number of outgoing links the pages has altogether.

Ditto on what tryusout said. Better to have it coming from 5 separate sites, especially if they are separate ip addresses and not from a link farm.

Different sites are better but I have the site that has 120 backlinks from the other site. I mean 120 links indexed by Google. So, this can work.

If you are actually looking to improve your PR then you should get 5 links from 5 different sites rather than sticking to one single site.

Different sites. I think it is ok to have multiple links from the same site (up to maybe 8-10) if they go to different pages. It should look natural and normally you wouldn't have multiple links to the same page.

The impact is very different. 5 links from 5 different websites allow you to rank higher. The difference is something like one person vote for you 5 times and 5 people vote for you one time. Google will weight the backlinks less when it comes from the same website.

generally, the more different domains you get links from, and the more IP blocks your backlinks are sited on, the more seriously you'll get taken (because its obviously harder to create that 'spread' of backlinks if you are a spammer...)

Having said that, ALL backlinks are groovy, baby.

Ok 5 links from 5 different websites is better than 5 links from the same site. But if there are 5 links from the same site not same page.

Example
The following web pages contains links
page1.html
page2.html
page3.html
page4.html
page5.html

Maybe it is this scenario you are referring to? Anyway 5 links from the same web page would be worth less I assume?
